Outreach Efforts

The UMDC aims to engage in outreach activities before each 5th Sunday Service. We will unite and venture into the community to provide food, clothing, hygiene products, and other essential items to those in need. The gospel has the power to transform individuals holistically, encompassing their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Therefore, inner-city missions address the following diverse needs.

·      Job training and employment assistance. Effective inner-city ministries will help people develop job skills, connect with employers, and find pathways out of economic desperation.

 ·      Educational support. Many inner-city children attend underfunded schools and lack mentors who believe in their potential.

 ·      Addiction recovery. Substance abuse ravages inner-city communities. Gospel-centered recovery programs that address both the spiritual roots of addiction and the practical steps toward sobriety have proven transformative.

 ·      Family support and counseling. Broken families are both a symptom and a cause of urban poverty. Ministries that strengthen marriages, help parents develop healthy parenting skills, and provide counseling for trauma and grief address root issues.

 ·      Housing and food assistance. Meeting immediate material needs isn't opposed to gospel ministry—it is an expression of it. "If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?"

None of these things saves a soul. However, each one demonstrates that the gospel we proclaim is real, that God cares about the whole person, and that His kingdom is breaking into this world right now.
